Neighborhood Ministry

Since Circleville doesn't have a lot to do in town anymore, plus there was some vandalism in the church pre-school park, I decided to get a group together and come up with some things for local families to do. We had a spaghetti dinner for local families prepared by the children. I board game evening.  A painting party which was a bit hit with the children as the finished painting was then given to their parents as a Christmas gift. We created a garden to grow vegetables for people that needed food and to create sauces for future spaghetti dinners. At the launch of our garden we grilled out and had a raffle for the children and their parents. Also we try to offer a movie night every other Friday evening when we have enough volunteers.

A collaboration of  Pickaway Area Recovery Services, Circleville City Schools the Circleville Police Department, and the Faith Based Community launched a non-profit organization, Foundations4Youth with an accompanying youth drop-in center in Circleville. The project aims to be a unified effort of local businesses, faith based community, schools, local law enforcement, and community based organizations. By providing a locally funded youth drop-in center, our community demonstrates how dedicated they are to the future of our children.
